Endeavours information

Post by cenobyte on Wed 16 Jul 2008 - 0:53

The information sheet about submitting Endeavours (downtime actions) and how they work is available here.

The form to submit your Endeavours is available here.

Because we have a few new players in the game, I wanted to make sure that the Endeavours information was still available. The links are dead. I can't fix that, but what I can do is provide a copy of the "form from Jill" that I have in my email and copy and paste each month. Then I only need to fill in the details as I decided what my character is doing. I'm not saying that it's the only way to submit, I'm just saying that it's my way. The resources at the bottom I copy and paste into the resources slot along with one of the options in parentheses so that I know what they'll do for me in my action. More than once I've found myself realising that I was making a mistake in allocation and moving things because of my parentheses. :)

I thought with the 'goon(s)' options for Lackey & Thug, that was in addition to, not instead of.

I'm not sure what your question is, Mark, or what it means.

BRB - Thugs wrote:If a fight ensues (via a Hunt or Protect action), every Thugs Resource represents 3 Thugs who possess 3 Body Archetypes (4 Warfare, 3 Dynamic & Reactive Body, 3 Offensive Maneuvers, 1 Defensive Maneuver). The Thug rules (See System: Combat) apply to them.

Mark, I think I see what you mean. You are saying, I think, that for Thugs on a Hunt or Protect, both (+1 mark for Cry Havoc, Hunt, Intimidate, Patrol, and Protect) and (+3 goons in downtime combat via Hunt or Protect) apply.

On reflection, I would agree. The first set of parentheses applies to the happening of the action and the second set of parentheses applies to the resolution of the action. I've obviously never done either of those actions, I just prepared for the possibility of their occurrence. :)

Jill? Does my logic seem logical?

Thank you Alan. I didn't think I was being unclear, but then I rarely do.

However, you missed what I meant in the Lackey case: if you use a Lackey AND a Thug on a Protect action, I think you should get both (+1 mark for Cry Havoc, Hunt, Intimidate, Patrol, and Protect) and (+3 goons in downtime combat via Hunt or Protect) AND (+1 effort reroll and -1 risk) and (+1 person when used with Thugs in downtime combat via Hunt or Protect). Makes sense?

Actually, now I wasn't clear. I understood your point, and agree. I had simply extrapolated it to that point in my head and thought I had typed it. I do that sometimes. :(
